1.What kind of classes does the CEC offer?
Since 2001, the CEC has been very successful offering “continuing education” type programming centered around art, science, technology, and life skills to every age group in our community. Our classes inspire participants to be creative and learn a new skill in a relaxed, comfortable environment.
Classes vary from schedule to schedule, and include Adult Art Classes in pottery, watercolor painting, jewelry making, stained glass, basket weaving and more; Arts Classes for Children of all ages focused on creative self-expression; Science Classes for youngsters enrolled in Head Start, and elementary age children enrolled in after school programs; Technology Classes on basic, intermediate, and advanced computer use and application, and beginning and advanced classes on digital photography; Leadership Development for adults and youth; Literacy Programs, for “at risk” elementary students; and Summer Day Camps and Programs for youth focusing on art, music, and physical fitness.
2. Can I pay for my classes on the day or the night of the class?
CEC instructors are not permitted to accept payments, so class registration fees must be paid prior to the start of the class. We offer several payment options for your convenience:
(1) Mail your payment to PO Box 225, Connersville, IN 47331. Checks can be made out to the CEC.
(2) Drop off your payment at our business office at 531 N. Central Avenue
(3)Register and pay online at www.comedcoalition.org
(4) Call the CEC office at 765-825-7633 with credit card information. We accept VISA, Mastercard, & Discover.
3.How is the CEC funded?
The CEC is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization. We are funded through the following channels: (1) grants; (2) donations; (3) income generated from class registration fees, and other services.
4. Is there a charge for the VanGOgh Artsmobile or the GOlileo Sciencemobile?
Yes. Our prices are extremely affordable and both vans are available for rent on an hourly basis. Add a unique twist to your child’s next birthday party or special event, and rent either the Artsmobile or the Sciencemobile for creative, hands-on fun.
5. What other services does the CEC provide?
(1) Framing or Matting Service. Do you have a drawing, photo, or old print buried in a closet that needs to be framed and matted, but can’t afford the cost? Bring it to the CEC! We now offer matting and framing services with prices well below what you would pay at many of the larger retail establishments. We offer a wide selection of frames and mats that will showcase your treasure. Call the CEC today at 765-825-7633 for more information.
(2) Wedding & Party Furniture Rental (Round tables and chairs) Just in time for graduation parties and summer weddings, the CEC is now renting out tables,chairs, and linens. And check out our prices! 6. How can I become an instructor or a volunteer for the CEC?
We are always looking for new, creative, and interesting classes to meet the needs of our community.
